There used to be a show on television called "While You Were Out" where professional decorators would go into a home and redecorate a room in 48 hours to surprise family members while they were away.
Well, we've been gone MUCH longer than 48 hours and we had talented volunteers do the work, but while all the books were removed to paint the walls in the current library space, the idea came about to move the library into the lounge adjacent to the sanctuary to make it more accessible and provide a bigger, brighter space. It looks amazing! A huge thank you to Carol, Pierre, Marilyn, Maureen and Elva who worked so hard to get the new room set up. There is a special children's corner so parents can be with small children during services, there is still room for meetings to be held and for families to gather before funerals.
There is much more wall space in this room and we plan to create a small art gallery for people in our church family to share their artistic gifts (we know many of you have been working on art pieces during Covid!). More on this to come.
We are excited for you to visit this beautiful new space when we resume for worship in September! And....there are some exciting new plans for the room that used to be the library....stay tuned!!
