The title of our prayer for today, “Wholeness in Fragments” might seem to contain an impossible contradiction.  How can we be whole and in pieces?  Yet in the wonderous ways of God, things that seem to be ‘either/or’ with us can suddenly be ‘both/and’.  As we hear in this prayer, we can seek God for a wholeness that can only be found in Him and can be found in the midst of our own sense of brokenness.  This prayer was crafted by Larissa Amour from Commons Church’s devotional and we are grateful for their permission to share it today.

Wholeness in Fragments

Sustainer God,
many of us are healing.
From past hurts and injustices –
some accounted for and some not.
From dreams and hopes unfulfilled –
some we let go of, and some not.
From broken hearts –
some pieced back together and some not.
From physical ailments –
some we’ve learned to live with and some not.
Lord of all, in these moments when all we have is flickering faith,
offer us the hem of a garment to reach for.
Help us to find wholeness in our fragmented lives,
guided by the truth in the promise that your arms will carry us through.
Amen.
